Dr. Shaqil Kassam
Medical Oncologist, FRCPC
Dr. Shaqil Kassam completed his Honours Bachelor of Science degree with a Minor in Medical Physics at McMaster University. He then pursued a Master's degree in Radiation Biology and DNA Repair at McMaster University. After completing his undergraduate medical training at the University of Toronto, he trained in Radiation Oncology for two years, after which he completed his Fellowship in Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology, also at the University of Toronto.
Currently, Dr. Kassam is a Staff Medical Oncologist at the Stronach Regional Cancer Centre in Newmarket, specializing in the treatment of Thoracic and Gastrointestinal malignancies. He is also the Skin Cancer Lead for the Centre.
His research interests focus on basic science and molecularly targeted agents. With his background in Medical and Radiation Oncology and a knowledge of DNA repair, he brings a unique combination of expertise to his patients.
